Regional Foodies Welcomed to Take a Bite Out of Fairfax City March 4 through 10
FAIRFAX, VA, January 10, 2018 -- Fairfax City’s new Restaurant Week will take place from March 4 to March 10, 2018. Participating restaurants will offer a $35 three-course dinner menu, a $20 three-course lunch/brunch menu, dine-in specials and additional thematic layers of entertainment.
“The landscape of dining establishments in Fairfax City has evolved rapidly over the past couple of years,” observed City of Fairfax Mayor David Meyer.“ We are certain that restaurant fans throughout the region will be pleasantly surprised by the globally diverse and many locally-owned dining options that the City has to offer.”
In addition to special value three-course menus and dine-in specials, restaurants will be encouraged to participate in themes designed to add layers of entertainment and engagement including: social media contests, government official meet & greets, local product features, Meet the Maker events, charitable giving, live entertainment and drink pairings.
“Our goal is to put the City of Fairfax on the map as a regional dining destination. I am grateful that the Economic Development Authority and the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce are partnering to share the story of Fairfax’s growing restaurant scene.” said City of Fairfax Economic Development Director Chris Bruno.
The City of Fairfax Economic Development Authority and the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce partnered to form the 2018 Restaurant Week Committee, a consortium working with consultants and the restaurant community to plan and carry out the event.
The committee’s goals are to solidify Fairfax City as a regional dining destination, to increase the number of diners each restaurant welcomes during this week, and to increase brand recognition for participating restaurants.
Diners are encouraged to join the conversation about 2018 Restaurant Week: on social media, use the hashtag #TakeABiteOfFairfaxCity when posting about the event.
